Live Animal Exporters Shame

Up until the Australian Quarantine Inspection Service took over in 2005, the mortality investigation reports were made public and provided by AMSA- Australian Marine Safety Authority.

AQIS do not provide any mortality reports to the public even though the live animal export industry is considered public interest.

It is our belief that this is a deliberate ploy to keep the facts of deaths of animals away from public scrutiny.

In late 2006 the Maysora arrived in Israel with hundreds of cattle dead and dying. After unloading a further 200 plus young animals died in the feedlot.
